Top Fitter

1. Schedule Your Fitting

We offer a variety of fitting options to suit your needs. If you're just in the market for a single club type like a driver or an iron set, you can book an individual fitting for what suits you best. We also offer full bag fittings where you can get fit for every club type.

Simply choose the fitting type, location and time that works for you and we'll have everything ready when you arrive.

2. Prepare For Your Fitting

It's helpful if you can bring the golf clubs you’d like to work on along with your shoes and glove. Wear comfortable clothing that you can move in and if possible try to arrive 10 minutes before your fitting so you have enough time to stretch and warm up.

3. Meet Your Fitter

We'll have a Master Club Fitter ready to go at the time of your fitting. After introductions, your fitter will ask a handful of questions to make sure we can give you the best experience possible. Some examples are: Tell me about your game? What is your most common miss? Do you have a handicap? What are your goals? Do you have brand preference? and other questions that might be helpful

4. Take Static Measurements

Before you start swinging clubs, we’ll take a few measurements to ensure we get you swinging clubs that are built for your unique size. Just as Shaq wouldn’t play basketball in size 6 shoes, you shouldn’t swing clubs not designed specifically for you! We’ll look at things like a wrist-to-floor measurement to determine proper club length and a hand size to find the right grip. Once complete, we’ll get demo clubs put together for you to swing!

5. Dynamic Club Fitting

This is where the fun really begins. First you will hit some balls to loosen up. Once loose, your fitter will place impact tape on the various clubs you are testing to determine where on the face you are hitting the ball and if we need to adjust the lie angle of the club. This critical step will allow you to hit more consistent shots by dialing in the perfect specifications for your dynamic swing.

You and your fitter will also look at a plethora of data including launch angle, ball spin rate, shot dispersion, distance, attack angle and more.

During the process you'll be able to see how changing club models, shafts, weighting and more can impact your results.

6. Club Recommendations & Selection

At Austad’s Golf, we really like to let the data speak for itself. You should be able to see from the Dynamic Swing Test and Ball Flight Analysis which club(s) and which specs work best for your swing. Your Custom Club Fitter will walk you through all the data and will provide you with all of the information from your fitting session. After that, the decision is up to you. Our #1 goal is ALWAYS to help you play better and of course have more FUN!

7. Order & Custom Build

Once you and your fitter decide on the optimal clubs for your game, we'll order clubs directly from the manufacturer.

The Four Most Common Questions About Custom Fitting

How to Prepare For Your Custom Fitting Session:

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Should I bring my own golf clubs?
A: You certainly can bring your own golf clubs if you’d like to compare what you currently own to some of the newer clubs on the market. However, you definitely don’t need to bring golf clubs to get custom fit. We have demo clubs on hand for you to test.
Q: What should I wear?
A: During a custom fitting session, you’ll be swinging golf clubs, so you’ll definitely want to dress comfortably. Don’t wear anything that it’s difficult to move or swing a golf club in and feel free to bring your golf shoes if you have them. Otherwise just come as you are!
Q: How long does a custom fitting session last?
A: It really varies based on what you’re looking for. If you’re getting fit for a full set of clubs including irons, driver, woods and putter, you’ll want to block off at least an hour. A driver-only session will probably take 15-30 minutes. However, we’ll work with your schedule and if you have a limited amount of time, our certified fitting pros will streamline the process and help you find the perfect clubs in the time that you have.
Q: I just started golfing, do I have to be good at golf to get custom fit?
A: Absolutely not! Golfers of all skill levels can benefit from custom fit golf clubs. From making sure you have clubs that are the right length to finding the right loft, lie and grip size, custom fit clubs can help golfers of every skill level play better and have more fun on the course.
Q: How much does it cost get custom fit for golf clubs?
A: We have worked hard with our staff and vendors to ensure that we have the expertise to provide you with a custom fitting session that is professional, fun and educational.  The price of any custom fitting session is always included with club purchase.  Custom fitting sessions start at $25 and go up to $75 and all fitting costs are refunded if you purchase new clubs within 30 days.  Check out our Custom Fitting Pricing for a full breakdown of pricing and services.
Q: What brands does Austad’s Golf custom fit for?
A: We are proud to carry golf equipment from all the top brands in golf and have demos on hand for everything we carry. Callaway, Cleveland, Cobra, Mizuno, Odyssey, Ping, Scotty Cameron, Srixon, TaylorMade, Titleist, Tour Edge and Wilson Staff are just some of the brands that we custom fit golf clubs for.
Q: Can I trade in my old golf clubs for new custom fit clubs?
A: Most likely. We definitely do take trade-in clubs and base our trade-in values on the PGA Value Guide. While we can offer you something for most clubs, very old clubs, clubs that are damaged or sets that are missing clubs may not be eligible for trade. Check out the Austad's Value Guide to see if your clubs are eligible and what the trade-in value will be.
Q: If I order custom clubs, how long does it take to receive them?
A: It can vary by brand but in general, your custom golf clubs will arrive within a few weeks. Your fitter will provide specifics at the time of your fitting about the current shipping times from our manufacturers.
Q: Do I have to pay for custom clubs up front?
A: Yes, all custom golf clubs must be paid in full at the time the order is placed.
Q: How do I sign up for a custom fitting session?
A: Signing up is easy! You can sign up online anytime using our Online Scheduler or find a store near you and call to schedule a fitting at your local store today.
Q: Can I earn rewards on custom club purchases?
A: Yes! Almost all club purchases are eligible to earn 3% rewards through our Family Rewards Program. PING products are excluded but all other purchases are eligible. Our rewards program is always FREE and includes many other perks including a full 60 days to try clubs and a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Get more info and sign up at https://austads.com/family
